Welcome
to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church online! At St. Paul’s,
we have resolved to keep our website fresh, lively and informative.
We want to keep your mouse busy! Tell us what you’re thinking.
We’d love to hear from you!
St. Paul’s Church is a church of striking contrasts, a dynamic
which has served to energize our ministry and mission. Founded as
a German American congregation of Lutheran immigrants in the 19th
century, we have, over time, become a church of our neighborhood
– Olney –a neighborhood that is anything but German.
Living and working here are peoples from all the seven continents.
The streets are populated by Christians and Muslims, Hindus and
Jews. St. Paul’s, dwelling in Olney’s midst, strives
to be faithful in its mission to share with all people:
|
|
- The
Word of God
-
Spiritual Fellowship
-
Christ’s reality in our lives.
St. Paul’s
is a highly `multi-tasking’ church, continuing to offer traditional
worship and activities, while also building future ministries with
a diverse community in mind. We are old and not so old. We are traditional
and `cutting edge.’ We are European, African and Asian in
extract – yet all Americans seeking to walk in the way of
the Christ. We cherish fond memories and are brimming with hopeful
dreams.
Scan
the pages and links of our site. You will see how people of all
ages are valued and served. You will observe how worship and learning
are embedded into our gathered life. Youth programming, music and
health ministry breathe a wholesome air into our daily lives. We
are a busy and active corner, here at 5th and Nedro. And I truly
believe that St. Paul’s is contagious to people – maybe
even contagious for you!
